Litigation Support
RPA consultants have managed research on litigation matters before federal and state courts in Texas, Florida, Georgia, Vermont, Kentucky, Montana, California and elsewhere. These matters involved: assessing on and off-site impacts of soil, groundwater, airborne and surface water contamination and alleged contamination on property values; real estate issues related to proposed environmental class actions and class-level insurance claims. RPA has experience in specialized valuation methods including econometric and statistical modeling, paired sales analysis, and case study research. RPA consultants have served as testifying experts on matters involving the impact of environmental contamination on property values, as well as matters involving proposed environmental class actions.

RPA specializes in addressing and analyzing complex valuation issues, including the valuation of properties impacted by environmental contamination or other disamenities; valuing the impacts of high voltage electric transmission lines on property values; the valuation and highest and best use of properties subject to eminent domain; real estate development feasibility; and the effect of renewable energy technology on onsite and surrounding property values.

RPA regularly presents original research through published papers and invited presentations. RPA researchers have contributed to the literature on the methods, techniques and standards for analyzing impacts on value and estimating property value diminution due to environmental contamination, and other potentially adverse influences. RPA also provides research on evolving trends in valuation. Recent research has focused on valuation issues surrounding wind turbines for on and off-site properties.
